Open Meets at the Hydro
HDSC runs its successful meets at the
Harrogate Hydro.
The pool opened in April
1999. It
is a purpose built 25-metre,
8 lane competition pool with Anti-Turbulence ropes, Swim Down
Pool, OMEGA Ares21 Electronic Timing with (new in 2011) a colour

display . We have
the latest IT systems for the electronic results service and
also aim to publish results to this web site after each meet.
The Hydro Pool is
about a mile from the noted shopping facilities of Harrogate,
where pre-pay ticket parking is available for the shops.
Parking at the Hydro is available and free, but may fill up closer to
meet start time. Please do not park on the grass at the Hydro
- cars simply sink in the
mud. The tractor to pull you out is
stunningly expensive (and doesn't take credit cards).
'Safe Sport Away' guidelines - The
Hydro takes safety very seriously, and Harrogate is a pleasant
town. However, if you are bringing a group to the Hydro and need
information to help with your routine risk assessment,
then email

and we
shall be delighted to help

- 2012 Open Meet After
a continuous run of 30 years, and due to the requirement to qualify
for key competitions in 50m pools it has been decided not to run
the Open Meet in 2012. Thank you to all those who have supported
us in the past. The meet is replaced by the JANUS Graded Meet.
